Ten short situations to discuss with a junior golfer. Choose an answer before reading the explanations. This is a learning activity, not an entry requirement or an official rules test. There is no pass mark.

For parents and coaches: ask the player to explain their choice. If an answer surprises them, try the situation with a ball and a marker. Print this page or use your browser's “Save as PDF” option; the answer key begins on a separate printed page.

Turn an answer into a useful habit

Pick one question that caused a discussion. Ask your junior to demonstrate what they would do, then invent a different version together. For example, change a recognisable ball mark or move a pretend relief area. Avoid repeating the same quiz until someone has memorised the letters.

Coaches can use the 20-minute session plan. Families preparing for an event can use the parent checklist.
